Dear Brothers/sisters,

Let me extend my sincere and profound gratitude to the author and you all who are participating in this very useful discussion online.
This is indeed the advantages of technologies today in the world as we are all together now discussing something very close to our hearts globally.

Even though many people consider us as very quiet tribe yet, am glad that you have tried to let others including some of the younger Kissi generations like I understand the origin and characteristics of our tribe.
I definitely agree with fellow discussants about some of the differences in terms of meaning or interpretations of our wordings from Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Kenya even though this is my first time coming across the Kenyan Kissies but our distinctive kissi tribe remain the binding lines.

Having followed the discussion and contributions from others from the four countries, it is clear that despite the few differences, yet there are about 70% similarities amongst us in terms of characters, culture, political settings and other characteristics with our distinguished solidarity and hospitality for others even outside our tribal lines.

Furthermore, this discussion clearly shows that we have the capabilities of solving the issue of food security in each of the four African countries considering the agricultural activities or products that are associated to our tribe across these four countries in Africa.
History also shows that we have been the major producers of food or basic agricultural produces in the mentioned countries.

Therefore, is there a possibility for us including other Kissi persons in the diaspora to form a united group/institution to take a lead in each of these African countries with mechanise farming to solve the food security problem especially now that the world is recognising indigenous people all over the world with so many call for proposals towards several developmental issues including agriculture amongst indigenous people as I currently have one of such call for agricultural activities by indigenous people around the world because am convinced that we do have all of the various skills for the actualization of such process.

On this note, I would like to use this opportunity to call on us all to kindly give this suggestion some kind consideration as we can maybe start with a technical group representing the four countries which could start work online and then set time for face to face meeting but it will be great for us to give solutions to food security for which I know God has given us the natural abilities considering the roles of our ancestors in their liberation struggles in the four countries.
Thanks again and I will be happy to hear from you all as I can be reached on this email, skype advocate66 or +44 744 067 3691 in the UK or Liberia +231 886 580 435.

Cheers

I have had almost 3 hours reading on this platform. I lived in Sierra since I was a teenager. I am Ghanaian by the way. I developed interest on this Kissi tribe in 2009 when my Facebook friend from Uganda posted something about Kissis in Uganda -but wait, don't get excited yet. I in-boxed him more about his post. He replied and yes, we do have a tribe name Kissi in Uganda. I then told him about the same tribal in West Africa. He started his research online to confirm what I told him.

I know that our forefathers settled beside rivers. Let’s trace where Mano River, that divides these three countries: Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea on the west coast of Africa. Then we will know that the four or five Kissi people are all the same who traveling along river Nile to the west coast of Africa.
This same river Nile then becomes Mano River, and Volta River, in Ghana where it enters back into the sea in the Volta region. According to professor Adu Boahene a Ghanaian historian, he said the said tribe Ashanti tribe in Ghana and Mendes tribes in Sierra Leone are from Israel through the Futta Jalloh mountains in Mali which to believe coz as an Ashanti from Ghana lived in Kenema in Sierra Leone for over 10 years I didn't notice any ties between these two tribes in terms of language. I will love to read more about these findings thanks.

Brother Smith,
We have taken all your concerns into consideration, and please note that we are not native – English men and women. You have given us a useful tool to investigate the Kissi in Uganda.
Please keep in touch.
Thanks,

I am kisii from kenya and i will love to know what you found out in your research. From the description I think we have so much in common with the kissi from west Africa. Farming, living near and on hills. iron works, and hardworking.
