Michael Fayia Kallon was born in Koindu, a prominent business center in the Kissi Teng Chiefdom in Kissi Bendu, Kailahun District, located in eastern Sierra Leone, on the west coast of Africa. His father, a dispenser- the late Borbor Brima Kallon, was born in Daru, Sierra Leone. His mother - Madam Finda Nyon Foryoh - Kallon, daughter of the late Kissi Chief - Fayia Foryoh; lives in New York City, in the United States of America.

Mr. Kallon moved to the United States after escaping war in Liberia and Sierra Leone. He attended Catholic schools -in Koindu, and the Holy Trinity Secondary School in Kenema, Sierra Leone, and obtained an Associate Degree in Education from Kakata Teachers Training College in Kakata, Liberia.

In the United States, he received a Bachelor’s degree in writing and literature from Burlington College and a diploma for freelance writing from Harcourt Higher Learning in Scranton, PA/USA. He also graduated as a Private Investigator from the Detective Training Institute in California and received both the Basic and Advanced diplomas.

Kallon has lived in New York since he escaped the human slaughter that plagued Liberia and Sierra Leone in the 1980s and 90s but later moved to Philadelphia/PA/USA. Mr. Kallon graduated from Walden University with a master's degree in Public Administration (MPA) in the United States. He has written many books on the Kissi culture in Africa, and also experiences in the United States of America – www.makonabooks.com.

The Ghosts of Ngaingah, published by the Sierra Leonean Writers Series (SLWS) now at AMAZON, and continues to work on more books and projects to this day.

He is presently a student at Capella University doing a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice /Public Safety, Bioterrorism and Homeland Security (Emergency Management).

Mr. Kallon was presented the prestigious award by the National Organization of Sierra Leoneans in North America (NOSLIMA), for his distinguished humanitarian service both in Kissi Bendu and in the Daru communities in the Kailahun District, in eastern Sierra Leone - and for his invaluable writings thus exposing the goodness in the Kissi culture for the first time in human history.
